Bret Michaels and the American Diabetes Association

Last night Bret Michaels won the coveted title of Celebrity Apprentice in the latest installment of Donald Trumps show. The price money of $250,000 will go to the American Diabetes Association; his chosen charity organization.

Over the course of the show people have come to learn of Brets life long struggle with type 1 Diabetes ( basically the pancreas makes too little insulin (or no insulin) ) and the dangers became more than apparent in the last months when he suffered several emergency medical conditions, an emergency appendectomy being one of them. Because of his condition he also wears a medical alert bracelet on his wrist.
