It’s been really hard having epilepsy. I never know when I’m going to have an attack and I have to constantly be alert to the symptoms. It’s especially an issue when I go out. When I’m with my family, they know what to do and what to look for. In a crowd, however, I feel much more comfortable wearing medical alert bracelets. It gives me peace of mind to know that they are there in case I can’t tell someone what is wrong with me. I still am very careful to take my medications, watch my diet and visit my doctor on a regular basis. It’s just a little bit of extra comfort.
